Molecule 01 + Iris is the union of Molecule 01 with a single olfactory ingredient: iris, a natural extract from the root of various iris varieties. The most minimal fragrance so far was the one built around a single molecule: Molecule 01. The next step adds just one ingredient—Molecule + is Molecule 01 + one single olfactory ingredient. If it were another molecule, it would never work. Each pairing has to be natural; only natural ingredients have the complexity to interact with a molecule in this way and dance with it, while preserving the simplicity of the original concept,” says Geza Schoen.

Geza Schoen explains that it isn’t easy to describe the smell of iris, yet you immediately recognize a perfume that contains it when you compare it to one that doesn’t. Iris adds a creamy powderiness and brings the fragrance into a physical dimension. Geza has always loved iris, and every Escentric fragrance contains an iris note. For him, iris is a luxurious ingredient, and the one used for Molecule +—orris absolute from iris pallida—is among the most expensive varieties in perfumery. Used in large amounts, as in this composition, it gives a fantastic sillage: its creator has called it a bomb, albeit a subtle one.
